Tretinoin

Tretinoin

Product Description

Tretinoin is a form of vitamin A used as a prescription treatment for acne. It is meant for mild to moderate acne, and it generally takes about 12 weeks to start showing results that you will notice. During this time, it causes the skin to shed away dead skin cells while also thickening itself in general for future results and maintenance.

Pros

Frankly, vitamin A does work in that way. It has even been known to reduce the chances of premature aging quite frankly because it thickens the skin. In addition, its mechanism of action has been proven time and time again, and with insurance, prices can be quite reasonable.

Cons

Vitamin A is not a catch all. There are many cases of acne which it does not actually address, and moreover it causes various side effects among other things. Moreover, it causes redness, dermatitis, irritation, peeling, and sensitivity to the sun which could accelerate the process of aging. It comes with all these side effects and takes 12 weeks to even tell if you are going to see results.

Summary

Tretinoin is unsure at best, and at worse, of course it doesn’t exactly work the way you are counting on to say the least. It won’t give you the results you are looking for, and you would be better off finding something else for greater results and benefits. Any way you look at it, you should stay away from this product.
